Perhaps Nintendo is considering moving the anticipated title to Nintendo's next generation console as a launch title. Harrison did say the title was still under development and it could possibly come to the GameCube, however it is not a certainty at this point. The tile was dubbed 100 Marios and quickly became the talk of the show. Mario 128 was originally shown as a GameCube tech demo at Space World before the GameCube's launch in 2000. Nintendo development grand daddy Shigeru Miyamoto has gone on record (with Japan's Playboy magazine, of all things) stating that Mario 128 will feature a freshness that was lacking from Mario Sunshine. Apparently, Nintendo refrained from putting the title on display at E3 in order to prevent it from being stolen.
According to the magazine, Nintendo's upcoming Mario 128 title is being built around a new idea that's never before been seen in a game. JThe latest issue of Japan's Nintendo Dream magazine is apparently home to good news for Mario fanatics who were a bit disappointed with Mario Sunshine.
